What's New in Version 1.2.2.0

Thank you for taking the time to download and install CTI Remote Backup Service 1.2.2.0. We've taken suggestions from our customers and made several improvements in the features of our program. Please read below to find out more!

Backup Wizard

Perhaps the biggest improvement in CTI Remote Backup is the addition of our new Backup Wizard. The backup wizard was designed based on feedback we received from our customers regarding how our interface could be better. You'll notice the new "Backup Wizard" link on the left side of the RBS program has replaced several of our menus which used to be located there. The new Backup Wizard consolidates all the backup and scheduling functions of Remote Backup into a simple and easy to use wizard.

Mirror Backup Mode

We've also introduced a new Mirror Backup Mode. Mirror Backup designed for our customers who may only need one copy of their backup available at any given time. Mirror backup  starts out by doing a complete backup of the files you choose. The real difference comes in later backups. In every backup run after the original, RBS checks to see if your files have changed since you last backed up. If you have any new files, or your files have changed, they  are backed up to our server. This feature greatly decreases the amount of data that has to be transferred with each backup, but at the same time does not provide the flexiblity of having multiple archive copies of your data as in our Standard Backup Mode. Both modes are availiable by selecting them in the Backup Wizard.

Automatic Backup Expiration

Automatic backup expiration allows you to choose how long you want a backup to remain on our servers before it is automatically deleted. Automatic Backup Expiration allows you to choose a set number of days to allow your backup to remain on our servers. After that time, our automated system will remove that backup. Automatic Backup Expiration helps you save money by keeping less data on our server. The option to use or not use Automatic Backup Expiration is also easily accessible from within the wizard.

Online Account Access

The new CTI Remote Backup Web Account Access allows you to access several frequently requested features. Through the new Web Account Access website you can recover your RBS username or password, view past invoices, make payments, configure automated payments, download the RBS program, and more! All you have to do is go to the Tools Menu in RBS and click on "Online Account Access".

Check Storage Space Usage

This feature is part of Online Account Access but is so important that we decided to make a separate paragraph about it. Along with Online Account Access, our customers can now keep track of their storage space usage on a daily basis. The new "View Usage" link on the Online Account Access page will allow our customers to view a table showing them how many gigabytes they've used backing up data to our server.
